As travelers stay close to home, adding details that pay homage to the community around an attraction can enrich the experience for local guests. Hersheypark integrated elements of architecture from the surrounding town of Hershey into the new arrival experience to create an atmosphere that conjured up the feeling of a turn-of-the-century factory town.
These touches included:
- Partially whitewashed walls in Hersheypark Supply Co. just like those in the original Hershey’s chocolate factory
- Four-pitched roofs that match The Hotel Hershey, the luxury resort perched above the park
- Kisses streetlamps just like those that line Chocolate Avenue in downtown Hershey
- Bricks from the original front gate incorporated into the brickwork of the Starbucks that now sits in its place
