Speakers
Bridgette Bywater
Bridgette started as a seasonal associate for Cedar Fair Entertainment Company in 1992 at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, MO. Since then, she has worked in numerous roles across departments including Ride Operations, Park Services, Admissions, Aquatics, Accommodations, Live Entertainment, Safety, Security, and Human Resources. Bridgett currently oversees and coordinates operations efforts across the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, including strategic planning, new attraction planning and development, best practices, and standardization. She is an active member of the IAAPA Water Park Committee.
Scott Carothers
Scott Carothers has worked at Wild Island Family Adventure Park, located at the base of Lake Tahoe and the Sierras in Sparks, Nevada for the past 27 years. He has held many different positions at the park and currently is the General Manager. Scott has been actively involved in the industry serving on the IAAPA waterpark committee from 1999 - 2006, and has had the privilege of speaking at other conventions and seminars. He is an associate of Ellis & Associates and has been the Co-Director and part of faculty at the International Aquatic Safety School in the past.
Franceen Gonzales, ICAE
Franceen Gonzales has outstanding credentials as a park operator and held top management positions at Golfland Entertainment Centers Inc., Waterworld Safari in Phoenix, Arizona, and Wet ’N’ Wild Waterworld in Texas. She was previously Vice President, Risk Management and Waterparks, for Great Wolf Resorts where she was responsible for safety and risk management as well as water park operations and maintenance for the company’s 12 water park resorts in North America.
Today, Franceen serves as the EVP of Business Development for WhiteWater West Industries Ltd., helping clients all over the world develop safe water parks that incorporate smooth operations and innovative high-quality products. She currently leads the Americas sales team.
She is a member of the IAAPA Global Safety Committee, has chaired the IAAPA Membership Committee, and served on the IAAPA Governance and Strategic Planning committees. Currently serving on the board of directors of AIMS (Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers) and NSPF (National Swimming Pool Foundation), Franceen teaches certifications such as the upcoming AIMS Pool Operators Certification Course. Franceen is also a former board chair and board member of WWA (World Waterpark Association) and the IAAPA board of directors.
Scott Deisley
Scott is a long-time veteran of the waterpark industry. He started his career as a Lifeguard and odd jobs expert at Raging Waters in Wildwood, NJ. Scott is now Managing Director of Safety Skills Training & Jeff Ellis International in Dubai. Scott has held senior positions at; Atlantis the Palm in Dubai, Mountain Creek Waterpark in New Jersey, Schlitterbahn in Texas, and Wild Wadi Waterpark in Dubai. Scott was a part of the first two waterpark teams to ever achieve ISO Certifications, Wild Wadi Waterpark and Aquaventure at Atlantis the Palm, and his current company also achieved an ISO certification in 2017.
