The IAAPA Institute for Attractions Managers is the global attractions industry’s premier professional development program, for leaders with five or fewer years’ experience in attractions management, designed for those who want to gain cross-departmental understanding or are starting in leadership and team integration.
Participants will digitally interact with experienced professionals to gain a solid understanding of the key disciplines and processes required to manage a successful attraction: Finance, Human Resources and Leadership, Marketing and Public Relations, Facility Operations and Safety, and Revenue Operations. Interact with your peers, work in teams, and set your knowledge in practice with a case study.
This virtual class is scheduled over a six-day period, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EST:

• This program delivers the same material as the in-person IAAPA Institute for Attractions Managers program. Individuals who have already completed the in-person program do not need to take this course.
• Attendance on all six days is required. Registration covers the complete course program.

Mariana Ruiz
Harold Herrera
Professional engineer with 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He started out as a programmer engineer for ride automation and control systems. Over the years, he has assumed different roles at Parque del Cafe, including positions in maintenance, engineering, project management, operations, safety, planning, and marketing.
Harold is a project consultant in the pre-feasibility, feasibility, execution, and commissioning phases of park development. Since 2019 he has been a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, in Operational Safety of Cable Transport Systems, and since 2020 he has participated as a consultant in the Hacienda Napoles Theme Park expansion projects. He has worked in the "Zero Incidents" program, structuring the training and certification plans for operators in Parque del Cafe.
Zaira Hidalgo
She was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Guadalajara, she has more than 15 years of professional experience in the International Restaurant Operators and Franchise industry. She has an open and frank personality; she is a lover of nature and animals; her greatest pride is her family. She has held various operational, managerial, and leadership positions for different companies and regions of Mexico, which has allowed her to develop her leadership skills and adaptability.
She currently serves as Director of Operations of the own parks (Mexico and International) at KidZania, a leading Mexican company in the global edu-entertainment industry. She was initially in charge of the opening of the KidZania Guadalajara park and the first implementation of the new technological platform for the operation of the parks worldwide, having a key role in the definition and implementation of the new experience for visitors.
Gerber Paredes
Gerber is a public accountant and auditor who graduated from the San Carlos University of Guatemala, he is also a graduate of the ICAE senior management program and a diploma in financial management from the Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce.
With more than 25 years of experience in finance, he has participated in the attractions industry in the design of policies, procedures, and implementation of entry control and ticket office systems, management system for hotels, retail sales, restaurant operation, and points of sale, inventories, property control, plant and equipment, consumables, compensations, accounts receivable, financial investments, constructions, imports, advance payments, control of attractions, as well as, Integrated Accounting Systems, Management of Purchases, and tools for analysis of financial information, and management reports, among others.
In addition, to being part of various accounting associations and colleges, he has been an instructor, speaker, and lecturer on these issues of cash flow, finances, capital, budgets, expenses, and income among others; he has also been actively involved with IAAPA.
Gabriela Alejandra Cabrera
Gabriela belongs to the third generation who runs a family business group. The companies that make up this group are related to tourism, entertainment, leisure time, and wildlife conservation: Mundo Marino Educational Park and Oceanarium, Mundo Marino Foundation, Termas Marinas Park (hot springs park), Poseidon Water Park, Solmar (theme hotel), and Sabores (gastronomic company).
She has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, in addition to training in Business Management, Human Resources, and Leadership programs, among others, to complete a general business knowledge. Gabriela has held different positions within the group's structure and now she is developing professionally in the Executive Committee that directs Mundo Marino, in addition to occupying the marketing and environmental education management, as well as the water park direction.
