Speakers
John English
John is an award-winning author, coach and successful entrepreneur who has founded four different businesses. One in manufacturing, one in engineering, one in publishing/education and another in coaching and development. He teaches leadership and employees a mindfulness practice to eliminate stress. In addition, his development workshops focus on healthy productive work relationships and communication strategies.
His unique approach creates teams and work environments where people thrive and are engaged because they use the power of the human spirit to honor and respect one another at work. The results from this unique approach have produced big results for leaders and the workforce.
Rhys Wachter, ICAE
Rhys has worked in the amusement industry for over 14 years, starting at Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast, Australia. Throughout the years Rhys took on a number of different roles across the Village Roadshow Theme Parks including positions in Operations, Marketing and Retail. With his passion for the attraction industry he was always driven to learn and take on any task whilst upholding impeccable customer service.
While Rhys was working at the parks, he also studied a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science. Shortly after graduating Rhys took on the role of Regional Operations Manager for Magic Memories. In this role he oversaw the photography operations across a number of theme parks and midway attractions, where he was able to develop a dynamic and fun environment which helped grow the business.
Rhys now works as a consulting Engineer for DRA Safety Specialists, working with all the major theme parks in Australia. He always takes pride in his work and has a close attention to detail. Rhys has been an IAAPA Show Ambassador since 2016 taking on the program coordinator role in 2019 and is also a member of the Young Professional Subcommittee. Rhys is also an IAAPA Certified Attractions Leader.
